Step 1 of 14 Get started

Get the Royals app

On Android, open Google Play, search Essendon Royals SC and tap Install. On an iPhone, open Safari (not Chrome) and go to app.essendonroyals.com.au. Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, then Add, and open Royals from your Home Screen.

What you'll see: the Essendon Royals SC app in Google Play, with the club crest.

The App Store version is on its way. When it arrives there is nothing to redo: your account carries across. Notifications on an iPhone only work when the app was added from Safari and opened from the Home Screen icon.

Step 2 of 14 Get started

Sign up and choose Supporter

Tap Sign in in the menu, enter your name and email, then type the 6-digit code from your email. The app asks How do you connect with the Royals? Tap Supporter.

What you'll see: five choices: Supporter, Parent, Player, Coach and Team Manager, and Skip for now.

Playing, or a parent of a player? Pick that instead and use the guide for your role. You can still follow other teams.

Pick the teams you follow

Tap each team you want to follow. For BVYPL and GVYPL you can follow the whole program or one age group.

What you'll see: the list of teams, with a tick on each one you follow.

Choose your alerts

Results, match-day reminders, club news and club notices are ticked for you. Untick anything you don't want, then tap Finish setup.

What you'll see: a tick box for each type of alert. Shop, sponsor and community updates are off unless you tick them.

When your phone asks about notifications, tap Allow, or the alerts can't reach you.

You're all set

That's it. Your teams now come first around the app. Changed your mind about your role? Settings has Change my role.

What you'll see: a done screen with a button to the home screen.

Your home screen

Home shows news, your teams' next games and recent results.

What you'll see: the club home screen with your followed teams near the top.

Fixtures and results

Tap Fixtures for every game, as a list or a calendar. Choose teams adds your teams' games to your phone's calendar. Results and ladders come straight from Football Victoria.

What you'll see: the fixtures page, showing last season until the new fixtures arrive.

The 2027 fixtures appear once Football Victoria publishes them, usually mid to late January.

Open any team for its squad, fixtures, results and ladder.

What you'll see: the team page with its tabs.

Find your way around

The bar along the bottom has Home, Fixtures, Social, Wallet and Settings. The menu (three lines, top right) has everything else, such as Teams, News and the Gallery.

Open the Sponsor Wallet

Tap Wallet at the bottom of the screen. Each card is a business that backs the Royals.

What you'll see: the wallet, with how many partner offers are available.

Use an offer

Tap Tap to reveal offer to see the offer, how to claim it and the terms, then Redeem this offer. Most offers ask you to mention the Royals, or show the screen, when you book.

What you'll see: the offer, the terms and a button to the business.

Change the teams you follow

In Settings, under Your Teams, tap the star on a team to follow or unfollow it.

What you'll see: every team, with the ones you follow highlighted.

Change your alerts

Also in Settings, each alert has its own switch: match-day fixtures, news, club notices, community updates, results, and Club Shop and Sponsor Offers.

What you'll see: the alerts list. The switches unlock once your phone allows notifications for the app.

Sponsor and shop alerts are off unless you switch them on.

Step 14 of 14 Settings

Delete your account

In Settings, under Account, tap Delete my account, read the box, then confirm.

What you'll see: a red box saying this can't be undone.

Your name, email and alert settings are removed, and you are signed out everywhere.
