Essendon Royals open Expressions of Interest for 2022 Junior Boys National Premier Leagues positions

Essendon Royals Soccer Club is open for Expressions of Interest from players for the Junior Boys National Premier League season in 2022.

The Royals have a limited number of positions in 2022 in its JBNPL program.

In 2022, the JBNPL program will run for the following age groups:

  • Under-14
  • Under-15
  • Under-16
  • Under-18

In addition to this, Essendon Royals will be running a JBNPL-level program for its under-13s to ensure they are in the best possible position to transition into the program in 2023.

The under-13s will compete in Football Victoria’s community programs, however, our JBNPL-preparation squads will receive additional training sessions with Essendon Royals Head of Football and NPL under-14 coach Vaughan Coveny.

As such, the Royals are calling for Expressions of Interest from players to take part in our under-13 (Community) and Under-14 to Under-17 (JBNPL) programs.

Players at the Royals will have access to a great team of coaches and a comprehensive football plan.

The Royals JBNPL program has made significant strides despite only being in operation for the last two seasons.

Despite ongoing interruptions, the hard work and dedication of our coaches and players ensured some amazing results in 2021, with our youngest side making Division 1, and our second-youngest side narrowly missing out on Division 1 qualification.

Essendon Royals were also delighted to see 18 of its Junior Boys National Premier League squads make Football Victoria’s Talent Identification and Development Centre program.

The selection of these players was a fantastic endorsement for the hard work being done with a focus on the development of strong footballing teams and strong footballers as individuals.

2021 also saw Royals juniors Lucas Caputo – brother of Max –  and Daniel Bukovinszky joining the Melbourne Victory academy from the Royals Junior Boys National Premier League set-up.

Former Essendon Royals juniors also racked up a total of 2,224 senior A-League and W-League minutes in the most recent season.
