Essendon Royals has existed as a club since 1959, but the club is nothing without its members. Players, coaches, officials and supporters are the basis that builds the Royals. Come be part of the biggest community football club in the north of Melbourne.
Members are the basis that builds any club, and the Royals are no different.
The club is home to hundreds of playing members, alongside the coaches, team managers and officials who help deliver both the football and the social side of the Royals. They are the people who make match days happen and keep the club moving forward, season after season.
We want being a member of the Royals to be an outstanding and memorable experience, whether you pull on the red and white, lead a team from the sideline, or back the club from the stands. There is a membership for everyone in the Royals family.
There are four types of members at Essendon Royals. Playing roles are registered through Football Victoria, and a Non-Playing membership for supporters is coming for season 2027.
From a first kick in Mini-Roos through to senior men's and women's football, players are the heart of the Royals. Each season, membership offers are sent to returning and new players during October and November.
Our coaches are members too. They guide players across every age group and program, with support from the club's technical directors and access to coaching resources and club events.
Team managers, committee members and the volunteers who run match days and keep the club organised. Officials hold full membership and help deliver the football and social side of the Royals.
You no longer have to play for the Royals to support the Royals. Non-Playing, or Be Royal, memberships are coming for season 2027 and will carry all the voting rights of a playing member, plus access to match-day benefits.
You do not have to play for the Royals to be a Royal. Non-Playing memberships are coming for season 2027 and will let supporters, family and past players officially call themselves members of one of Victoria's largest community football clubs. Same club, same voting rights, no need to be on the field.
