Jacinta Da Cruz joins Essendon Royals

Jacinta Da Cruz is the latest senior women’s player to arrive at the Royals.

The seasoned State League 1 campaigner arrives alongside a fellow former Brunswick City team-mate in Celeste Gallina, and will join Vince Battiato’s senior women’s squad for the Season 2022 campaign.

Prior to her time at Brunswick, Da Cruz has enjoyed title success with Keilor Park Soccer Club, where she won the State League 2 North-West title in 2016 playing a total of five campaigns with Keilor Park, all but one of them in State League 1.

Her experience will prove crucial as the Royals look to build on the foundations made in State League 1 during the disrupted 2021 campaign as Battiato looks to build a strong squad for the season ahead.

Da Cruz said it was a delight to be a Royal and was excited for the new year.

“The welcome from the club has been incredible,” she said.

“You can tell the culture of the club really sets the Essendon Royals apart.

“The quality of the squad is excellent and I have no doubt that we will be up there in the mix for promotion and the title in 2022.”
