Essendon Royals has been made aware of recent cyber abusive behaviour directed towards our Head of Football, Vaughan Coveny, by a disgruntled parent.

The parent is not associated with the Essendon Royals.

The allegations being made by this person are baseless and Essendon Royals would like to express its unwavering support for Vaughan and his family during this difficult time.

The allegations also implicate a number of reputable Victorian Football Clubs, and we extend our support to our colleagues in condemning this behaviour.

We are informed that the matter has been referred to Vaughan’s legal team and the appropriate legal measures are being taken.

Essendon Royals strongly condemns this behaviour which has no place at our Club or in our game.

If you or anyone you know have been a victim of cyber bullying or cyber abuse, please visit www.esafety.gov.au or contact Victoria Police.”
