The Essendon Royals will mark their return to Cross Keys Reserve with a massive Australia Cup tie against National Premier Leagues 2 outfit Moreland Zebras.
Two foes with proud Italian heritage whose history arches all the way back to the Royals glory days in the State League in the 1960s, when the Royals were known simply as Triestina and the Zebras simply as Juventus, will meet in what promises to be a huge occasion in the national cup competition.
The Royals saw off fellow State League 1 North-West rivals 2-1 in the Round 3 of the competition, putting in an impressive shift away from home to earn progression into Round 4.
Round 4 marks the entrance of all NPL Victoria senior teams.
Whilst it has been some time since the Royals and the Moreland Zebras have faced off in official competition, the two did meet in a pre-season friendly, in which goals from Luca Santilli and Graham Kelly secured a 2-1 win for the Royals.
Kick-off is scheduled for 7.30 pm.
