Essendon Royals is proud to introduce a new name for our Saturday morning introduction-to-football program.
Now known as the Essendon Royals Kick-Starters program, this weekly football program designed for players between the ages of four and nine will replace what was previously known as the Essendon Royals MiniRoos Kick-Off Academy.
The name change better reflects the nature of this program, as well as aiming to avoid confusion with the club’s Community Football MiniRoos program, which is a competitive, team-based program that incorporates training and matches.
The Kick-Starter program runs throughout the school terms, with two sessions held every Saturday.
Kids aged 4, 5 and 6 will participate in the early session, which runs from 9am-9.45am.
Kids aged 7, 8 and 9 will participate in the second session, which runs from 10am-10.45am.
The club has decided to split sessions to create greater opportunities for players who missed out on Term 1, as well as allowing for a greater coach-to-player ratio.
The club will cap numbers at 50 players per session.
Registration for Term 2 of the Essendon Royals Kick-Starter program is now open.
