Essendon Royals welcome back Nobu Usui

The Essendon Royals are delighted to confirm the re-signing of Nobu Usui for Season 2023.

The Japanese forward proved to be one of the signings of the season in 2022, as he delivered some key goals and assists in a campaign that saw the Royals promoted from State League 1 North-West and into the NPL3 competition.

Usui will now have the opportunity to rise the ranks with the Royals and test himself at the next level in Victorian football after a superb debut campaign.

A tireless worker comfortable playing on either flank, Usui quickly established himself as a strong contender for a starting position every week thanks to his ability to work in both directions and his fearless running at opposition full-backs.

Usui finished the league campaign with six goals from 20 appearances, amongst them a crucial winner against Brimbank Stallions that proved crucial in the race for promotion.

The Royals are excited to welcome Usui back to Cross Keys in 2023.
