Mary Hubeek hopes to terrorise defences once again for the Essendon Royals, having recommitted to the club for its upcoming Victorian Premier League Women’s campaign.
Hubeek was a dominant force for the Royals in 2022.
She contributed to 32 goals – scoring 20 and assisting 12 – to help the Royals earn promotion from State League 1 and ascension into the second-top division in Victoria.
A tireless runner, Hubeek is the very definition of defending from the front, with her incredible work rate and bravery in the tackle crucial to Coach Vince Battiato’s high press.
Hubeek – who is also an outstanding futsal player – will hope her eye for goal remains as sharp as ever in 2023 as she looks to help the Royals make their mark in the VPLW.
Hubeek joins a growing list of promotion-winning players who have already committed to the club, following on from Marie Rampal and her fellow Golden Boot winner, Rachel Alonso.
