Two-time promotion winner Lydia Schifferegger signs on for Essendon Royals

Two-time Essendon Royals promotion winner Lydia Schifferegger has re-signed with the Royals for Season 2023.

A member of our 2019 and 2022 promotion-winning squads, Shifferegger played a crucial role in the Royals’ success last season before an untimely injury cut short her season.

Despite a cruel end to the season, Schifferegger still managed 14 goal involvements during the season, scoring three goals in the process from midfield.

Having proven herself a valuable part of Senior Women’s coach Vince Battiato’s squad, Schifferegger will be looking to test herself at the next level in the VPLW.

She joins a growing contingent of players who have re-signed for the club, following on from the strikeforce of Rachel Alonso, Linda Sawa and Mary Hubeek, as well as 2022 best-and-fairest Marie Rampal.
