Young goalkeeper Evie Bowen has joined the Essendon Royals to help the Club bolster its Women’s goalkeeping stocks for the 2023 season.
Bowen arrives at the club from Boorondara Eagles, where she demonstrated exciting potential.
At the Royals, Bowen will be working alongside senior goalkeeper and former A-Leagues Women’s keeper Beth Mason-Jones, making the Royals a fine next step for her on her footballing journey.
“I’ve always seen a lot of potential in the Royals, and every year, no matter what division they’re in, they’ve been pushing for promotion,” Bowen said.
“I’ve come from a VPLW club, so I know the league, and I know that at this club, I’ll be challenged and pushed to be a better player and person.”
Bowen said she hopes to get some senior minutes under her belt in 2023 and that she’d be using every training session as an opportunity to show her quality.
“The coaching staff have been amazing. Vince has a great mindset and he is pushing us to be the best we can be and the fittest team we can be so that we can keep pushing for the top.”
