Will Abbott re-signs with the Essendon Royals

The Essendon Royals Soccer Club is pleased to announce the re-signing of centre-back Will Abbott for the 2023 season. Abbott, who played a vital role in the Royals’ promotion to NPL3 last season, will be returning for his second season with the club.

Abbott made 12 appearances for the Royals in 2022, scoring four goals. His goalscoring prowess was particularly impressive, as he had a knack for scoring important goals when the team needed it most. Some of his notable goals include the first goal of the league season against Banyule, a crucial equaliser at Brimbank, and two goals away to Keilor Park on the day the Royals sealed promotion.

As a commanding centre-back, Abbott played an instrumental role in the team’s success last season. His defensive prowess and ability to read the game made him a valuable asset to the team, and his leadership, both on and off the pitch, was highly appreciated by his teammates.

The Royals are thrilled to have Abbott back for another season and are confident that he will continue to be a key player in the team’s success.
