Essendon Royals have welcomed three new faces into the Senior Men’s squad for the remainder of Season 2023.
Experienced Victorian football stalwart Matthew Breeze arrives at the Royals in the mid-season transfer window, flanked by Ali Eyigun and Daniele Ferri.
Breeze – no stranger to those familiar with Victorian football, having represented top-flight sides Green Gully, Melbourne Knights, as well as Preston – made a strong start to life at the Royals, making a notable starting debut in our 1-1 draw against Melbourne Victory on the weekend.

Eyigun, a former Melbourne City Academy prospect, arrives at Royals and links up with a number of former teammates from his time at Pascoe Vale.
He was named as a substitute against Victory and came off the bench to make his debut.
Rounding out the trio is Ferri, who trialled at the Royals on the recommendation of former Italian star Luca Simeone.
Ferri, who was a team-mate of Simeone’s back home in Italy, came highly recommended and signed on after a successful trial period.
Ferri, unfortunately, missed the Victory game through illness but will be looking to be fighting fit for the remainder of the season.
The Royals wishes all new signings all the best for the remainder of the season.
