Essendon Royals sign youngster Ethan Georgopoulos

Essendon Royals is excited to announce the signing of Ethan Georgopoulos for the 2024 season. Ethan, a dynamic midfielder, joins us from Pascoe Vale, where he made a significant impact in the Under-21s and earned senior appearances in the NPL2 (now VPL1).

Ethan’s journey to the Royals is driven by his ambition to excel in senior football. “I’ve been playing at the under-21s level and have been looking for a step up into senior football,” Ethan explains. “I think the Royals is a good club for me to step up into and show what I can do at the NPL level.”

In the 2023 season, Ethan stood out in Pascoe Vale’s Under-21s, scoring 12 goals in 27 games, demonstrating his ability to find the back of the net. His style of play is characterized by his effectiveness in the final third, where he thrives on making decisive passes and runs into the box. “My main strengths are passing and finishing off plays in the final third,” says Ethan.

The opportunity to join the Royals was also influenced by the club’s commitment to giving young players a chance to prove themselves. “A few young boys have been given a go here, and I think I can prove myself and take that opportunity as well,” he adds.

Ethan’s addition to the Royals squad brings a promising blend of youth and talent, and the club is eager to see him make his mark in the upcoming VPL2 season. His ambition and skill set make him a valuable asset to the team, and the Royals community is excited to support him in his journey.
