The Essendon Royals are proud to announce the signing of Katherine Goff for the upcoming season. With a rich background in both the NPLW and A-Leagues, including stints at Melbourne City and South Melbourne, Goff brings a wealth of experience and an impressive athletic pedigree to the Royals.
A lightning-quick winger and an outstanding track and field sprinter, Goff is known for her incredible pace and agility. Her dual prowess on the soccer field and the track makes her a formidable addition to the Royals’ lineup.
Having met Coach Vince Battiato during her university days, Goff was drawn to the club by his analytical coaching style and the team’s ambitious vision. “Vince is an intelligent coach that focuses on versatile formation systems,” Goff explained. “When he reached out, it felt like the right place to be.”
As the Royals embark on their inaugural NPLW campaign, Goff is excited to lend her experience to the team. “The diversity of age and experience within the team creates an environment where everyone is motivated to excel,” Goff said. She emphasised her eagerness to contribute to a group that is not only determined to play good football but also to make history in 2024.
Reflecting on her own evolution as a player, Goff acknowledged how her experiences have shaped her: “I’m not as nervous about playing as I was when I first started. I want to play good football, own my strengths, and work on my weaknesses.”
Goff also praised the analytical and detailed coaching approach of Vince, comparing it to her positive experiences under previous coaches. She believes that Vince’s thorough preparation and strategic insights will be instrumental in the team’s success this season.
The camaraderie and focus within the team have stood out to Goff since joining the Royals. “The group of girls is not clicky, and there’s a fantastic focus on the season ahead,” she noted. The positive training environment and the culture that Vince has cultivated have made her transition to the club seamless and exciting.
Katherine Goff is looking forward to being part of a team that has something to prove and is excited to tackle the challenges of the NPLW. The Royals welcome her speed, experience, and positive attitude as they prepare for a groundbreaking season.
