Jordan Adeyemi jets in for Essendon Royals VPL-2 Squad

Essendon Royals are thrilled to announce the signing of Jordan Adeyemi to our senior men’s squad in 2024.

Adeyemi arrives at the club after a lengthy career playing in England for the likes of Walton & Hersham, Worthing and most recently, Hornchurch in the Isthmian League before arriving at Cross Keys this off-season.

The English attacker’s most prolific campaign came in the 2022-23 season, when they scored nine goals for Walton & Hersham, helping the club secure promotion.

“I feel happy to be here,” Adeyemi said.

“The opportunity came up through being in contact with someone who works here and we literally got things done within a few weeks.”

Adeyemi reflected on his football journey, which culminated in him eventually arriving Down Under with the Royals for the new season.

“I started off as a 16 year old boy, playing for Leyton Orient, I was never offered a professional contract,” he said.

“Covid happened, lost 18 months before joining non-league side Gilford City. It wasn’t going the way it was supposed to go, so then I joined top of the league Walton & Hersham, got promoted with them, stayed there, got back-to-back promotions, and decided I wanted to go higher.”

As for his experience at the club so far?

“I’m always learning new things and wanting to learn, open to learning and couldn’t say a bad word about anyone at the club,” he said.

“From the whole management squad to Steve, the players, they have been so welcoming, and it couldn’t have gone any better… I can’t wait for the season.”

We can’t wait to see Adeyemi lead the line at the Royals this season, with his trademark speed and dribbling set to cause headaches for opposition defenders across the competition.
