Welcome Julia! Essendon Royals sign Sardo for the remainder of the 2024 season

Essendon Royals have announced the signing of experienced defender Julia Sardo for the remainder of the 2024 NPLW Victoria season.

Sardo joins the club after spending the last two seasons with Western United’s A-League Women’s side, making 25 appearances for the club.

The versatile full-back has also spent time with both Perth Glory and Melbourne City.

Sardo has been a key part of Calder United’s all-conquering side for many seasons, and was awarded Player of the Match honours in the 2022 NPLW Victoria Grand Final.

The 28-year-old can play as either a right-back or right-winger, and is known for her brilliant defensive attributes.

We can’t wait to see Sardo take the field this season as we chase a strong finish to the 2024 season.
