Essendon Royals are pleased to announce the signing of Serbian international Tyla-Jay Vlajnic for the remainder of the 2024 NPLW Victoria season.
Vljanic joins the club after an extensive career playing in both the A-Leagues and abroad, primarily for Melbourne City and most recently, Western United where she’s been a key part of their squad for the last two seasons, making over 30 appearances and scoring three goals, along with tallying five assists.
The 33-year-old was part of a City side that won four A-League Women’s championships and two premierships during her time at the club.
She has also notched up appearances in the USA with Seattle Sounders and Serbian club Spartak Subotica, along with a number of appearances for Serbia’s national team.
Closer to home, Vlajnic has played for both Calder United and FC Bulleen Lions in NPLW Victoria.
Vlajnic can play anywhere up and down the left-flank, as either a full-back or a winger.
Royals will be without Vlajnic for a few weeks this season when she heads on international duty with Serbia, a selection of which the Royals are immensely proud of.
We can’t wait to see Vlajnic take the field this season as we look for a strong end to the campaign.
