Essendon Royals are pleased to announce Vince Battiato will continue as the club’s Senior Women’s coach in 2025.
Battiato will look to build off the success of the club’s first season in NPLW Victoria, where he led the side to a top four finish and a place in the finals.
Next year will mark Battiato’s fourth year at the helm, having joined the club in 2021, before leading Royals to back-to-back promotions in 2022 and 2023.
Royals finished in third spot on the NPLW Victoria ladder, defeating reigning premiers FC Bulleen Lions twice, reigning champions Heidelberg United twice and runners-up Preston Lions once.
However, their run finished in the first week of finals, when they went down 1-0 to Preston.
Battiato’s work with Essendon was acknowledged by being named coach of Victoria for the 2024 Battle of the States against Queensland.
The Royals coach has been busy making signings and re-signings for the upcoming season, with announcements to be made in the coming weeks.
We’re looking forward to seeing what Battiato and his squad can do next year as we look to continue the momentum garnered from an amazing first season in NPLW.
