Brad is back! Essendon Royals re-sign Victorian football legend Brad Norton for 2025 season

Essendon Royals are pleased to announce the re-signing of Victorian football legend Brad Norton to the senior men’s squad for the 2025 VPL2 season.

Norton returned to his junior club last season, after a distinguished career playing for the likes of Adelaide United, Northcote City, Melbourne Knights and most famously, South Melbourne.

At Hellas, he played 301 games, captained the side between 2017-2023, to go with winning won two NPL Victoria championships, an NPL Premiership and the 2015 Dockerty Cup.

The left-back fit in brilliantly at Royals last season, providing valuable experience in the back-half and leadership for the young players within the senior men’s side.

Norton even popped up with a brilliant long-range goal in their 1-0 win over Beaumaris, showcasing he can still get it done at both ends of the ground.

His re-signing is the latest in a string of players to commit to Michael Ferrante’s side for the 2025 season.

Norton is joined by VPL2 Golden Boot winner Jordan Adeyemi, club captain and VPL2 Players’ Player of the Year Graham Kelly, Irish attacker Dean Clarke and young full-back Will Thomason as players to have re-signed ahead of the new campaign.
