Royals solidify defensive unit with return of Mia Lantieri-Bartley for 2025 season

Essendon Royals are pleased to announce the re-signing of defender Mia Lantieri-Bartley to their senior women’s side for the 2025 season.

Lantieri-Bartley became a constant in the heart of the Royals defence after arriving from fellow NPLW Victoria side Alamein in the mid-season window.

The former Box Hill United defender made 16 appearances for the Royals, quickly establishing herself as a starter alongside regular Mikaela Jurcic in the backline.

Her performances were key in locking in a finals berth for the club and helping Essendon establish themselves as one of the strongest defensive units in the league.

She joins Jurcic, Ava Groba, Kendrah Smith, Audrey Oastler and Olivia Ristevski as players to have recommitted ahead of the 2025 season.

We’re looking forward to Lantieri-Bartley having a full pre-season at Essendon and continuing to make strides at the club as we look to build off a positive 2024 season.
