ESSENDONEssendon Royals are excited to announce the signing of Airi Fujiwara for the 2025 NPLW Victoria season.
The Japanese attacking midfielder arrives at the Royals after playing for SFIDA Setagaya FC in Japan’s Nadeshiko League Division 1, the second tier of Japanese women’s football. During her time there, she made an immediate impact, earning the Rookie of the Year award in her debut season.
Airi is a dynamic and intelligent attacking player, comfortable playing out wide or through the middle. Her exceptional link-up play, sharp eye for a pass, and fluid movement make her a nightmare for defenders to contain. Her ability to find the back of the net from deeper positions adds another dimension to the Royals’ attack, and she is determined to compete for the top scorer title in 2025.
With a proven record of making an impact on the field, Airi brings creativity, vision, and a goal-scoring threat to the Royals as we prepare for our first NPLW Victoria season.
