Peers-Barlow joins Royals for NPLW comeback

Essendon Royals are delighted to announce Anna Peers-Barlow as the latest addition to our NPLW squad for 2026!

Anna is a midfielder with seven years of top-flight experience at Alamein FC. Fit again after two seasons struggling through injury, she’s chosen to make her comeback at the Royals.

“Coming back in, after a couple of seasons… It’s part of my identity, football,” she says.

“It’s a strong group, so it’s been hard work to break the squad, but I’m really excited to work with the girls.”

“Anna is very hard-working and has the ability to win a lot of ball in midfield, but can also cut in on her left foot and contribute to goals as well,” says head coach Jaiden van der Heijden.

“We’re excited to see Anna back in the league and playing at her best.”

Peers-Barlow points to camaraderie and culture as the factors that drew her to the club. While preseason has been a challenge, she can already see the progress being made.

“There’s a few barometers in the group, so they push you. We’ve been unlocking moments already.”

Peers-Barlow joins Sascha Kozomara among the new arrivals, with further announcements still to come.
