Essendon Royals are pleased to confirm that midfielder Sasha Coorey has re-signed for the 2026 NPLW Victoria season, extending her stay into a second year at Cross Keys.
Coorey showed her undoubted quality throughout her debut campaign in Essendon colours. Featuring on the team sheet 23 times, she became a key figure in the midfield, blending composure, creative instincts, and a knack for stepping up in decisive moments. Her four goals included one of the highlights of the season — a last-minute equaliser against eventual premiers Box Hill United that underlined both her technique and her competitive edge.
With A-League experience and Young Matildas pedigree, Coorey brought an immediate lift to the squad in 2025. Her ability to control tempo, break lines, and influence games in transition has made her a central part of the Royals’ evolving identity.
Under new senior coach Jaiden Van Der Heijden, Coorey is set to continue playing an important role as the group pushes for greater consistency and a stronger foothold in the league’s top tier. Her return adds both leadership and quality to a midfield core that will shape the club’s ambitions in 2026.
We’re excited to see where Sasha can take her game in the year ahead.
