Introducing NextGen Royals: Stories from Cross Keys and Beyond

We are excited to introduce our new feature, NextGen Royals, which highlights the stories of our junior program as submitted by parents. The first edition covers the first two weeks of competitive games and features stories of player and team development, great play, and community spirit. Read on to find out more about the amazing efforts of our junior teams.

“Challenging and Developing” – U12 Girls Black

Despite not securing a win, the U11 Girls playing up this year in U12 Girls Black will tackle the season head on, learning and developing. The team’s efforts demonstrate their commitment to challenging themselves and growing as players.

“Improvement and Experience” – Boys U13 Kangas

The Boys U13 Blue team finished second in the normal season of the junior Super League tournament pre-season 2023. Though they lost a close game in the semi-final, they played off to win third place in their division. The team’s impressive improvement since the post-season tournament highlights the importance of gaining experience and using it to grow as players.

“Great Play and Community Spirit” – Gallery from our Royals Under 9’s Girls and U13 Kangaroos

The Royals Under 9’s Girls team and U13 Kangaroos team both demonstrated great play and community spirit. The U13 Kangaroos won 6-0 against Pascoe Vale, while the Royals Under 9’s Girls showcased their skills on the field.

“A Promising Start” – Under 8W

The Under 8W team made up of largely 6-year-olds have come together quickly, demonstrating their eagerness to learn at training and on game days. The team’s efforts in grasping an understanding of the game and playing together led to a 4-0 win against good opposition. The team is off to a promising start, thanks to their supportive parent base.
