The Essendon Royals are preparing for a crucial home clash against Ballarat City this Saturday night, with Senior Men’s coach Mick Ferrante emphasising the importance of the match.
“We know we need to start picking up points if we want to climb the ladder, and there’s no better time to do it than at home against a team around us on the table,” Ferrante said.
The Royals have had a difficult start to the season, but Ferrante remains positive about the team’s mood and attitude.
“The boys are working hard, and the attitude has been good. We know we’re better than our results suggest, but we’re trying to improve a few things on gameday and being able to maintain a positive mood is going to be important in turning this around,” he said.
One area the Royals will look to improve is their home form, with Ferrante keen to turn Cross Keys into a fortress this season.
“We love playing at Cross Keys, and we want it to be a real fortress for us this season. Our last game there was a really strong performance, and we’ll be looking to build on that this week. We want to make it a tough place for other teams to come and play, and a place where we can really express ourselves. The boys are up for it, and we can’t wait to get out there,” Ferrante said.
With a positive attitude and a determination to turn their season around, the Royals will look to make a statement at home against Ballarat City this Saturday night.
