A Clash of Titans: Royals Prepare to Take on Spring Hills Stallions

Essendon Royals Senior Women’s Coach Vince Battiato loves a challenge and he knows that’s exactly what he’s going to get on Friday night when Spring Hills Stallions come to town.

This familiar opponent has bolstered their attacking prowess with the addition of two outstanding players, including the highly talented Aleksandra Sinclair from Western United. The Stallions’ formidable attack, led by Dayna Stevens, has now gained extra support and poses a significant challenge to the Royals’ defence.

“They’re very good again in 2023, same as last year. They’re very good and solid going forward,” he said.

However, Battiato emphasised the importance of his side’s solid defensive structure, which to date has proven incredibly difficult to break down.

The Royals’ defensive strength has been a key factor in their success this season. With unwavering faith in their defensive capabilities, Battiato believes his team can stifle the Stallions’ potent front three.

“If we’re defensively strong, then I’ve got a lot of faith in our attack that we can get on top of opposition defences,” he said.

“Only Casey Comets have scored more goals than us this season, so I trust the attack to get on top when our defence stifles our opponents.”

Don’t miss the highly anticipated clash between Essendon Royals and Spring Hills Stallions, where two powerhouses collide in a display of skill, passion, and tenacity.
