Expressions of Interest open for Essendon Royals senior pathway

Expressions of Interest for the Essendon Royals Men’s Reserves team are now open!

Our club is looking for ambitious 18-21-year-olds who are looking to break out of under-age football and join an open-age men’s program under the guidance of Reserves coach Mick Giacomi and Senior Men’s coach Vitale Ferrante.

Giacomi takes on the Reserves role in 2022 with a proven pedigree in helping young footballers prepare for the rigours of senior football and will be working closely with Senior Men’s coach Ferrante as the club looks to put the building blocks in place for years to come.

The Royals senior team regularly featured players still in their teenage years and early-20s, proving that opportunities are created and will be given to players who are hungry for them.

Most notably, teenager Bailey Predgen was a regular in the Royals back four, whilst Mo Abbas started almost every league game in 2021, proving to be an effective contributor in midfield.

Talented Reserves players are also invited to regularly train with the first-team squad and learn from experienced players multiple times per week.

The Royals would be a perfect home for any players seeking greater opportunities in a senior squad.
