Women’s Match Preview: Royals return to action with clash against familiar foe Brunswick

Essendon Royals’ senior women’s side will look to make it three straight wins in the league when they return to action to face Brunswick Juventus at Cross Keys Reserve on Saturday afternoon.

Royals had a week off last weekend due to FV Emerging being without a host of players on international duty, meaning they will come into this contest off the back of a 14 day break.

Their last game was a 2-1 victory over Box Hill United, where goals from Ava Groba and Reona Omiya were enough to help Essendon to victory at home.

They come into the contest sitting in third place on the ladder, three points behind second placed FC Bulleen Lions and four points behind league leaders Preston Lions.

Royals’ opponents this weekend, Juventus, sit bottom of the ladder after seven rounds and suffered their fourth defeat of the season last weekend against Bulleen.

Brunswick are also without a win in their last six matches, stretching back to their Round 1 victory over Box Hill.

Kick-off is at 3 PM, with the Under 20s taking the field at 12:30 PM.

The Under 20s suffered a 6-0 loss against Emerging last week and sit in second last on the ladder, while Juventus sit sixth after a 2-0 defeat to Bulleen.
