Essendon Royals will be looking to make it three wins in succession when they head to Kim Reserve to face Altona City on Saturday night.
Our weekly previews are brought to you by the Geelong Holiday Inn, as we look ahead to the upcoming rounds of action.
Royals continued their improved run of form with a comprehensive 5-0 victory against Brunswick Juventus at Cross Keys Reserve, with Jordan Adeyemi and Dean Clarke firing home braces, while Marcus Kotronis added another in the rout.
Watch the highlights from our 5-0 win over Brunswick Juventus.
Adeyemi’s brace took him back on top of the Golden Boot race heading into the final three rounds of the season with 12 goals to his name, one clear of FC Melbourne Serbija’s Luka Ninkovic (11 goals).
The win took Royals into fifth on the ladder, and can leapfrog Juventus into fourth place should they knock-off the third-placed Altona City, who are still trying to make a promotion push in the final weeks of the season.
Altona City went down to North Sunshine Eagles 2-0 on Saturday evening, meaning they fell five points behind the latter in the race for promotion.
Overall, it’s been an incredible season for Altona, who were only promoted to VPL2 at the end of last season and along with Serbija, have been in the mix for consecutive promotions the entire campaign.
Altona won the reverse fixture 1-0 at Cross Keys, with Jayson Ziro scoring the solitary goal back in May.

Kick-off is at 6 PM, with the Under 23s in action just beforehand at 3 PM.
