2025 Essendon Royals Community Football Program EOI Open
Essendon Royals Soccer Club are now taking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for our 2025 Community Football Program. Open to players of all abilities, our community program is a fun and inclusive environment for everyone from our youngest Under-7 teams to our top-age juniors (U21s) and open-age teams in boys and girls football.
A Program for Everyone
Our community football program is a safe and supportive space where players can develop their love for the game, regardless of their skill level. Soccer should be for all, and our focus is on creating a positive environment where development and enjoyment come first.
We will try to field as many teams as possible across all junior age groups, but please note that we are oversubscribed in many categories. This EOI is for players who are not interested in playing in our Boys Kangas teams in 2025.
The club has also announced a separate EOI process for our JBNPL program.
Opportunities Across All Levels
For our older players, our open-age men’s teams compete in the metro divisions, and our open-age women’s teams compete in State League 3 within the Football Victoria women’s football pyramid. These teams are an excellent opportunity for players to continue their soccer journey in a competitive but community-focused environment.

At Essendon Royals, we are an inclusive club that prioritises players and families who buy into our culture and values over talent. This applies to all levels of our football programs, from our competitive pathways, like the Kangas and JBNPL programs, to our senior football teams, and it is essential in our community program.
Our community football program is led by two Technical Directors, with oversight from our Head of Football, Vaughan Coveny. Technical Director Michael Curcija manages boys’ development, and we will announce our Girls’ Technical Director in the coming weeks.
