Talented young defender James Tieri re-signs with Essendon Royals for 2025 season

Essendon Royals are pleased to announce the re-signing of young defender James Tieri to their senior men’s squad for the 2025 season.

Tieri returns to the Royals for a second consecutive year after joining the club ahead of the 2024 campaign, after bursting onto the scene through the junior setup at Pascoe Vale – where he won the 2023 Under-21 Player of the Year.

The full-back became a fixture in the Royals senior side throughout the year, and scored once in his 22 matchday squad appearances against Altona City.

His re-signing is the Royals’ eighth ahead of the new campaign, joining club captain Graham Kelly, VPL2 Golden Boot winner Jordan Adeyemi, Dean Clarke, Brad Norton, Will Thomason and Andre Russo.
