Davey Van’t Schip Re-Signs as Senior Men’s Assistant Coach for 2026

Essendon Royals are delighted to announce that Davey Van’t Schip is back on board as Senior Men’s Assistant Coach for the 2026 season.

Van’t Schip will continue to work alongside Head Coach Michael Ferrante, extending a strong partnership that has helped drive the continued progress of the Royals’ senior program.

A respected figure at the club, Van’t Schip signed for the Royals in 2019 as a player and was part of our promotion-winning State League 1 side in 2022, stepping into a dual player/coaching role that year. 

He hung up the boots at the end of the 2024 VPL2 season after a distinguished career, and brings a wealth of experience and a player’s perspective to the Essendon dugout.

Van’t Schip’s re-signing ensures further continuity within the Royals’ football department as preparations ramp up for the 2026 VPL2 season.
