Royals secure Emma Langley for 2026 after standout debut season

Essendon Royals are thrilled to confirm that midfielder-turned-striker Emma Langley has re-signed for the 2026 NPLW Victoria season.

Langley arrived at Cross Keys in 2025 with a wealth of top-flight experience, and she wasted no time showing exactly why she has been such a consistent performer across Victorian and Tasmanian football. She played in all 22 league matches, stepped into a new role across the front line, and became one of the most reliable contributors in the squad.

Her versatility came to the fore as she spent much of the campaign leading the line, finishing the year with eight goals and playing a decisive part in many more.

Beyond her output on the pitch, Langley brought an immediate lift to the group culturally. Her professionalism, voice, and experience have become important pillars in the dressing room and will be invaluable under the guidance of new senior coach Jaiden Van Der Heijden.
