Young talent Alessia Bresciano commits to Royals for 2026

Essendon Royals are pleased to confirm that Alessia Bresciano has re-signed for the 2026 NPLW Victoria season, continuing her rise within the senior women’s program.

Bresciano joined the club in 2025 as part of the U20s squad, but her opportunity arrived far sooner than expected. Thrown straight into the starting eleven for the season-opening 1–0 win over Brunswick Juventus, she handled the moment with maturity well beyond her years and never looked back.

Across the campaign, Bresciano was named on the team sheet 20 times – an outstanding return for a young player stepping into Victoria’s top flight for the first time. Her quality, competitiveness, and willingness to learn made her a valuable addition to the senior group from day one.

“Alessia had her breakout year in NPLW this year,” says head coach Jaiden Van Der Heijden.

“We’re excited to see her grow and continue to use her athleticism up and down the flanks.”

Bresciano’s next step is clear: continue to push her development and compete for a regular starting position in 2026. Her trajectory suggests she is more than capable of doing exactly that.
