Royals add experience and versatility in Bella Sewards

Essendon Royals are excited to announce the signing of midfielder Bella Sewards ahead of the upcoming NPLW Victoria season.

Sewards arrives at Essendon as one of the competition’s most reliable performers, having built a wealth of NPLW experience built across several programs.

A product of the FV Emerging pathway, she established herself early as a leader, captaining the side and reaching the significant milestone of 100 senior NPLW appearances by 2022.

Sewards has gone on to represent Calder United and South Melbourne, recovering from six months out with injury to notch her 150th top flight appearance in 2025 – a testament to her hard work and resilience.

Comfortable in a variety of midfield roles, Sewards has played in multiple positions across her career to suit the needs of the team.

“Bella has been in the league for quite some time now, and we’re excited to see her continue to grow,” says head coach Jaiden Van Der Heijden.

“She’s very, very good on the ball, she has good athleticism, and an eye for goal.”

The Royals are delighted to welcome Bella to Cross Keys as she prepares for the next chapter of her NPLW journey.
