Club Junior Markogiannakis Re-Signs for Royals

Essendon Royals are pleased to reveal that one of our own – Evan Markogiannakis – has re-signed for the 2026 VPL2 season.

Markogiannakis returned to his junior club last season with many years of senior experience under his belt, both in the top flight with the likes of Avondale and Port Melbourne, and in VPL1 with FC Bulleen Lions and Manningham United. The 28-year-old custodian made four appearances last season, and is set to contend for the #1 spot between the sticks once again.

Markogiannakis is Essendon’s eleventh re-signing of the offseason, joining Andre Russo, Phil Riccobene, James Tieri, Vince Lia, Julian Guzzardi, Marcus Kotronis, Takumi Niwa, Dean Clarke, Jordan Adeyemi and Brad Norton in committing to Mick Ferrante’s squad for 2026.
