Pocock Locked In for 2026

Essendon Royals are pleased to confirm that Renee Pocock will return for her second season at Cross Keys Reserve ahead of the 2026 NPLW Victoria campaign.

Pocock arrived at the club ahead of the 2025 season after progressing through the junior ranks at Bulleen and previously developing at Calder. At the time of her signing, she had already tasted senior football, earning call-ups into Bulleen’s NPLW squad while continuing to sharpen her craft at Under 20 level.

Her first season in Royals colours marked another step forward in that journey.

In 2025, Pocock featured 14 times in the NPLW Victoria competition and twice in the Nike FC Cup, steadily building minutes across the campaign. While she was largely introduced from the bench, she became a regular contributor in the second half of the season, often injected into matches to lift intensity and stretch opposition backlines.

That persistence paid off in August when she netted her first senior goal for the club in a win over FV Academy — a breakthrough moment that reflected both her work ethic and her growing confidence at this level.

She also continued to contribute at Under 20 level, balancing development minutes with senior exposure as she adapted to the demands of NPLW football.

Pocock’s re-signing reinforces the club’s commitment to developing young talent and backing players who are prepared to earn their opportunities. Still early in her senior career, she has already shown composure, energy and a willingness to compete when called upon.

With a full NPLW season now behind her and a senior goal to her name, Pocock enters 2026 better equipped to push for greater influence in the attacking third.

The Royals look forward to seeing her build on a promising first campaign and continue her growth in red and white.
