Club Notice: Ormond Park Pavilion Inaccessible

Essendon Royals notifies members and the broader public that on 25 February 2026, the soccer pavilion at Ormond Park was affected by a roof collapse.

Luckily, the incident occurred during the day when no one was at the club or in the rooms.

Moonee Valley City Council was notified and attended that evening.

Only one section of the roof has collapsed, however in the interest of safety, Council has advised that the building is not accessible until further notice. This unfortunately means our players will have no access to club rooms or canteen facilities during training until further notice.

It also means we are unable to turn on the lights for training. As a result, training at this venue will be completed prior to sundown.

The Club Committee has updated Coaches, Team Managers and Members via internal communication channels.

The Club is working with Moonee Valley City Council officers to understand the steps required to regain access to the pavilion and its safe repair.

Ormond Park has been home to Essendon Royals since the 60s and continues to play a vital role in the club’s ability to service our playing membership as well as being an important cultural and social hub for our members.

We look forward to a timely and safe repair of the pavilion.
