Essendon Royals open Expressions of Interest for Senior Women

Essendon Royals Soccer Club is now accepting Expressions of Interest for our Senior Women’s program.

After a hugely successful 2022 campaign that saw the Royals earn promotion into the Victorian Premier League Women’s competition, as well as winning a State League 1 Reserves Championship, the Royals offer an exciting Senior Women’s program offering exciting competitive and development opportunities alike.

Headed up by Senior Women’s Coach Vince Battiato, with the full support of the club committee, the Royals are proud to be keen promoters of Women’s football and offer one of the most dynamic programs in Victoria, from our junior program that continues to grow to our Seniors that continue to set the bar high.

The club has begun the process of appointing a Women’s Technical Director and is looking to continue the good work started in 2022 of bridging our exciting junior program with our seniors.

The club also plans to have a State League 3 team next season.

The club seeks Expressions of Interest from players 16 years old and above in 2023.

We are looking to talk to players who are any or one of the following:

• Teenagers eager to explore senior opportunities or looking to continue their development at a club that in recent years has helped to produce several A-League Women’s players
• Players in their early-mid 20s ready to test themselves in a VPLW environment
• Players mid-20s and beyond with exceptional leadership qualities and/or coaching ability, eager to contribute to a fantastic club and culture beyond their playing ability.
